The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing quality health care in the outpatient setting under the supervision of a designated physician. This position provides same day access to patients and supports overflow.   Responsibilities The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the response of the human condition through diagnosis and treatment. The NP works under the supervision/sponsorship of designated physician(s) and in collaboration with a team of other providers and staff; promoting a culture of collaboration and support between all providers within the St. Luke's Clinic Medical Group and to support the model of team based, patient-centered care endorsed by physicians and advanced practicing providers within our medical group. -Provide care through diagnosis, clinical judgment, anticipatory guidance, and management to restore, maintain, and improve the health status of the patient. -Perform history and physical exams, acute and episodic care, orders pertinent lab and diagnostic studies with interpretation and consultation. -Initiate and manage appropriate pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic agents, and treatments within the scope of practice. -Establish and document the healthcare plan and treatment, maintaining records of each case that are sufficiently complete for any healthcare professional to evaluate and follow the treatment plan and subsequent outcome(s). -Recommends strategies to assist SLHS in meeting its critical goals and objectives in the most efficient manner possible; administers recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for systems execution and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies.'-Interact with patients/families in a professional and sensitive manner, and maintain confidentiality. -Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the health care team within facility and any applicable referral agencies. -Accept assignments based on patient census, acuity, needs, and the qualifications and competencies of self and of other staff members. -Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education. Responsibilities The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is an advanced practice registered nurse who practices in accordance with standards established by the American College of Nurse Midwives Certifying Council or the American College of Nurse Midwives. Certified nurse midwives who meet qualifying requirements and are licensed by the Board. To manage women's health care, focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, the post partum period, care of the newborn and reproductive and gynecological needs of well women as defined by the certified nurse midwife's scope of practice. The scope of practice of an authorized certified nurse midwife may include prescribing and dispensing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic agents. The major role functions of the CNM will include clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, education, and research. As an advanced practice nursing position, this position falls under the review and oversight of the St Luke's Chief Nursing Officer. - Admit and discharge in noncritical care areas low-risk patients whose medical history, surgical history, past obstetrical history and present health status reveal no conditions that would adversely affect the normal labor and delivery process patients whose present condition currently or potentially requires no further medical diagnostic work-up or intervention (i.e., a definitive diagnosis exists and the therapeutic regimen is established). - Midwifery care is primarily intended for healthy women/infants. When medical or obstetric complications arise the CNM can continue to be instrumental in the care of higher risk clients. Collaboration provides for the following patterns of care: - Consultation: The process whereby a CNM who maintains primary management responsibility for the woman's care seeks the advice or opinion of a physician. - Collaboration: The process whereby a CNM and physician jointly manage the care of a woman or newborn that has become medically or obstetrically complicated. The scope of collaboration may extend from ongoing consultation to assumption of a dominant role by the physician in caring for the patient, including delivery. When the physician must assume a dominant role in the care of the patient due to increased risk status, the CNM may continue to participate in physical care, delivery, counseling, guidance, teaching and support. St. Luke's Children's Hospital is currently seeking a full-time pediatric ophthalmologist. This teamcurrently consists of 2 pediatric ophthalmologists and 1 optometrist and specializes in the care of diseases and conditions of the eyes in infants, children, and adolescents, including strabismus, amblyopia, eye misalignment, cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, nystagmus, and retinopathy of prematurity. St. Luke's Health System is seeking a BC/BE physician (family medicine, or emergency medicine) to lead our growing and collegial urgent care team in Nampa, ID.  This full time (1.0 FTE) position is responsible for the clinical operations of the Urgent Care site under the supervision of the System Medical Director of Urgent Care and includes: full time clinical practice consisting of 36 direct patient contact hours per week within the urgent care, oversight of APPs, and additional billable administrative hours (on average 5 – 8 per month). Our team is currently comprised of several APP's who cover multiple locations within the greater Boise area.    At our Nampa UC clinic, as with our other urgent care clinics across the health system, patient scope includes a variety of adult and pediatric illnesses and injuries, including but not limited to, simple fractures, lacerations, colds and flu, and other medical conditions not requiring emergency room care. St. Luke's Health System is currently seeking a Part Time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide newborn care to patients in all Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Nampa) newborn nurseries.  This role could have the opportunity to cross cover in general pediatrics and/or the NICU. This will be a shift-based role, with a variable schedule that will include weekday and occasional weekend shifts, with the possibility of afterhours call. The APP works under the supervision of a designated physician, and in collaboration with a team of other APP providers and staff. St. Luke's Health System is currently seeking a full-time clinic only Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our highly collegial and patient focused Bariatric and Metabolic team in Boise and Nampa, Idaho.  The selected individual will work in a comprehensive clinical setting helping patients with weight loss goals and lifestyle changes.  Our comprehensive Bariatric department includes non-surgical treatments of obesity in the clinic. Resources include a behavioral health specialist and Registered Dietitians that specialize in the disease of obesity. Monday through Friday schedule with clinics split between Boise and Nampa locations. The Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) is responsible for providing high-quality healthcare through the diagnosis and treatment of patients with conditions ranging from mild, to acute and/or chronic.
