St. Luke's Acute Care Surgery is the largest general surgery group in Idaho, providing surgical care for Emergency General Surgery and Level III Trauma (Meridian) patients. The ACS model includes 13 surgeons and 9 Advance Practice Practioners, and the practice covers the St. Luke's medical campuses in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. The framework for work currently includes 16 (12 hour) shifts per month, additional elective general surgery practice is an available option. The shifts are designed to provide continuity for patients, in either 4 day weekday blocks and 3 day weekend day blocks, and at times 1 week consecutively per surgeon preference.
